Watery eye surgery




This section describes two commonly performed operations for watery eyes, namely punctoplasty, where the drainage hole in the lower eyelid is enlarged and DCR (dacryocystorhinostomy). A DCR operation is where the drainage tube leading from the eye to the nose is allowed to drain through a new opening into the nose at a higher level, bypassing a blockage below.
